Tata is about to add new automatic gearbox variants to the Nexon's range. Tata Motors has officially started accepting bookings for the upcoming Nexon AMT for an amount of Rs 11,000. The AMT model will be offered in the top-spec XZA+ trim.
The Tata Nexon AMT will be the first diesel automatic offering in the compact SUV segment. Also, the three driving modes standard on the manual Nexon will also be carried over to the AMT versions. Aesthetically, a new orange-silver dual tone colour option will be exclusively offered on the automatic Nexon.
The automated manual transmission offered on the Nexon is a 6-speed unit - dubbed Hyperdrive S-SG - which is mated to both 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. This makes Nexon the first vehicle in its segment to offer such flexibility. The petrol engine produces 108bhp and 170Nm, while the diesel makes similar power but takes the torque figure up to 260Nm.
